Automobile Engineering (AE) has come out of Mechanical Engineering as a specialised branch of studies to combat the ever increasing demand of designing, developing, manufacturing, testing, repairing and servicing of all kinds of vehicles that include motorcycles, cars, buses, trucks, earth moving machineries etc. Automobile Engineering uses the features of different elements of Engineering such as mechanical, electrical, electronic, software and safety engineering. This broad field of engineering has many sub sections and the areas of specialization include engine systems, electronics and control systems, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, etc. To become a proficient automobile engineer, specialized training is essential and it is a profession which requires a lot of hard work, dedication, determination and commitment. The Department of Automobile Engineering is all set to offer such training to its students by qualified and experienced faculties and by taking them through different sophisticated laboratories and workshops equipped with relevant experimental set ups, tools and machineries. The pass outs of this Department are employed by many leading industries and have been working with confidence and honour and thus adding laurels to the Department.
There are great employment opportunities in both India and abroad in Private National and Multinational Automobile companies, Service Stations, Private Transport companies, Defence Services, Insurance Sectors and Self Employment by setting up Automobile Garage or Maintenance Workshop.
The Indian auto-components industry is expected to register a turnover of US$ 100 billion by 2020
ELIGIBILITY
Minimum 45% marks in Math + Physical Science with minimum 35% marks (aggregate) in 10th Exam.
