Electrical Engineering

Electrical Engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism. The field covers a range of sub-disciplines including those that deal with power, optoelectronics, digital electronics, analog electronics, computer science, artificial intelligence, control systems, electronics, signal processing and telecommunications. Electrical engineering is considered to deal with the problems associated with large-scale electrical systems such as power transmission and motor control, whereas electronic engineering deals with the study of small- scale electronic systems including computers and integrated circuits.

Various engineering colleges across the country are doing their best to meet the burgeoning demand of skilled electrical engineering professionals. The job market for EE is perennial. Even the vagaries of the global economic crisis could not knock out the demand of these professionals in the Indian job market. Highly qualified professionals from these fields can choose their profession as-Chief Engineer, Workshop Manager, Operations Manager,Engineering Technologist, Power Plant Engineers (Hydel & Solar), Development and Test Engineers Electrical, Product Design Engineer, Project Manager, Consultants or Project Head.

Eligibility

For candidates taking admission in 1st Year :

  • Candidates must pass Madhyamik Examination from West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent examination from the Board/Council.
  • There is no upper age limit. However, the candidate should not be born after 01.07.2009.
For candidates taking admission in 2nd Year :

  • Candidates must pass HS (Vocational) of WBSCT&VE&SD
OR
  • Candidates must pass 10+2 examination from the recognized Board/Council listed below, with any one of the subjects/areas of Physics / Mathematics / Chemistry / Computer Science / Electronics / Information Technology / Biology / Informatics Practices / Biotechnology / Technical Vocational Subject / Agriculture / Engineering Graphics / Business Studies / Entrepreneurship
OR
  • Candidates must pass 10th + (2 years ITI, continuous), in annual system or semester system, in any branch of Engineering and Technology.
  • There is no age limit.
